Among their extensive range of services, Michelfelder Edelstahltechnik also offers special profiles and custom profiles. Next to conventional materials, e.g. stainless steel, copper, steel, also high-value special materials such as gold, silver, titanium, can be used for the production of thin-walled special profiles. Particularly profiles in the visible range, e.g. bathroom, living area, automotive etc., often require certain materials with defined dimensions. For such applications there are usually no standard profiles available on the market.

Michelfelder has got the solution. An innovative system, built in-house based on their own staff's expertise, enables Michelfelder to manufacture thin-walled special profiles by pulsed laser welding. The process is operated by a focused laser beam which imposes short pulses on the workpiece. It excels by its very gentle material treatment. During pulsed laser welding, the workpiece is only marginally heated, thus thermal input is reduced to a minimum.

A specific application Michelfelder refers to is the production of special profiles requiring the best of design for movable heating elements (screens) which are used as  room dividers in individually designing one's living area.
